One more match this week, with Real Braaaiins defeating the Sixty Whinerz 4 - 0.

This puts the current standings as:

Braaaiins take the top of the table on Passing Difference, both matches this season being 4 - 0 makes the table very close so far.

The Scimitars were the only team to play in both of the last two seasons, so have two seasons worth of awards. Almost everyone else brought out their heavyweight teams for The Bloodbowl.

Bloodbowl: Shadownight All-Stars take on the Scimitars and the Packers

Two more games for the All-Stars, sadly they are still to score.

First up it was a clash of the low raiting teams with Shadownight taking on the Shareef Scimitars. The All-Stars put up a better game of it, they still can't generate a scoring drive but did hold the Scimitars to 3 TDs, the last grabbed in the final turn of the game.

Game two saw the Packers roll over the All-Stars with a 6-0 win, however they didn't have it all their own way as the Shadownight offensive line killed off two Tolbeck lineman and used a chainsaw to nobble the Ogre, causing to miss most of the game.

All this pushes Shareef and Tolbeck away at the top of the table, with the Northerners taking 3rd place ahead of Shadownight on GD.

Bloodbowl: Scimitars vs Bullz

The Bullz went into their first game against a lower raited team, but came away with the looser's end of the purse.

Both teams put in a solid first half, with favourable kick off table results building a lead for Shareef, but fumblefest began when the ball was kicked for the second half. From there the Bullz and Scimitars failed over and over to pick up or pass the ball, it was only the fact the ball remained in the Skadayul half that put Shareef in a position to scramble in a few more TDs and lock down the win.

Bloodbowl: Season 8 so far...

I've been slack posting Bloodbowl results on the front page this season, sorry about that. The main League page is always updated right after the game, but I keep meaning to post here later and just not doing it.

This season has seen the Reds, Braaaiins and Klean go on hiatus, while the Packers and Hawks return. Also two new teams join the League, The Shadownight All-Stars and The Shareef Scimtars.

Results so far then:

Season 8 kicks off with the defending Blood Bowl Champions, The Tolbeck Packers, taking on the team that has secured every Trophy this year, The New World Wenches. The Packers heavy hitting play did some serious harm to key Wenches and proved that the Champs are planning to keep that Cup.

Match number two was the other end of the spectrum, with the two rookie teams facing off. In the first half it was looking like a close game, with the humans 1-0 up over the elves. But the floodgates opened in the second half as casualties and KOs combined with a lack of reserves started to clear the field for the Scimitars to keep running them in.

Game three saw the Packers take a surprise loss to the Scimitars. Some great inducements in a set of experimental Orcidas Boots and some well timed Lewd Manoeuvres from the Scimitar Cheerleaders, combined with some aggressive tackling carried the underdogs to the big upset.

Number Four was the first Draw of the season, with the heavyweight tackling machine, The Northern Hawks taking on the extremely busy Shareef Scimitars. The Hawks dominated the field while shenanigans and chicanery from the Scimitars stack of inducement cards failed at every turn. In the final turns however lady luck smiled on the newcomers and a last turn dodge-dodge-touchdown evened up the scores and took the game to a 2-2 draw.

And Finally, Season 8, Match 5 saw the Scimitars once again take the field against the Orcish Monsters of The Sixty Whinerz. The Whinerz for the first time taking on a team with a lower team value, started out strong, with some good fortune bouncing a missed pass back into the hands of the receiver in the End Zone for an outstanding Touchdown. Both teams put in a solid passing game with 5 completed each. However in the match of human speed verses orcish strength it was Scimitars clocking up 4 passing TDs for the win.

So that's Season 8 so far. The table is still mostly split up by number of games played, currently only the Hawks and the Scimitars are undefeated and only the Scimitars and the Packers have a Win on the table.

Chaos Cup Final: New World Wenches Retain

For the first time in our League's short history, a team has retained a championship.

The New World Wenches dominate the R'lyeh Reds to claim the Chaos Cup for a second time. Wenches took an early lead and held right through the game, killing Reds lineman Olob in the process.

Yet again the Reds show they just can't win a Cup, while the Wenches having won every tournament this year and are looking to get a complete set of silverware by picking up the Bloodbowl in March.

It's a bit late starting, but it's Chaos Cup 2009 time!

Just the one TD this game, with opportunities for either side to take more but unending fail from both sides leaves the Orcs ahead when the whistle blows.

Next Wednesday it's the semi finals, Whinerz vs Reds and Klean vs Wenches.

Bloodbowl: Reds 9 - 1 Klean

A massive team raiting difference and two Blitz resuts on the kickoff table pushed the R'lyeh Reds to a 9-1 win over Squeeky Klean this week. Even the world's most tactically sound Rat Ogre couldn't help the Skaven grab a second TD.

The game also produced the League's first Legend status player, scoring four Touchdowns and one Pass in his Legendary Game, #13 Kirk of the R'lyeh Reds crosses the 176 with style.

With that result, the League table looks like this:

Up soon is the Chaos Cup 2009, can the Wenches retain the trophy?

We'll have to find a weekend everyone is free soon.

Should there be no shift on the table and just the teams currently with a game be playing the cup would be, a playoff game between Real Braaaiins and the Sixty Whinerz for the semi-final against the R'lyeh Reds, then New World Wenches vs Squeeky Klean in the other semi-final.

We should sort out a date soon.

More Bloodbowl Results

More results from the Bloodbowl League. While the League page has been kept up top date, I've not been posting results on the front page for a while, so here is a catchup.

Of special note there is the monster 5 - 5 draw between Wenches and Klean, a new record for the league!

These give us a league table that looks like this:

Only four teams on the table so far and only a few weeks until the Chaos Cup. The Wenches have been the most active team with four games and the Whinerz are the laziest with two. Slightly strange to see such a high positive Casualty Difference for the Reds, but it seems that Armour 7 is finally starting to haunt the Skaven and Amazons.

Hopefully we'll see Braaiiins enter the table and have the first meeting of the season between the Whinerz and Klean over the next week.

Bloodbowl: Autumn Week One

Week One of the new season had the Whinerz pick up two games, and they didn't mess about, going right for the top two teams in the League, the Reds and the Wenches.

The Whinerz did well in the first half of the game against R'lyeh, holding them to two touchdowns, but in the second half the floodgates opened and the top rated offence clocked up another three. Sadly for the Sixty Whinerz it was 0-0 on casualties.

It was a much closer game between the Wenches and the Whinerz, but Wenches skill set and the Whinerz inability to counter the Block/Dodge combo and score those casualties secured a solid win for the New World Wenches.

2009 Dungeonbowl Champions

New World Wenches (David)

Today we played the Dungeonbowl, using the 4th Ed style tunnel fighting and teleporters rules.

Round one went much as expected, with the superior teams overcoming shenanigans to push through to the final match.

With loading teleporters at the other teams End Zone the established tactic by the final, the Wenches pulled the match in just a few turns after stumbling over the ball early on and jumping End Zone to End Zone to score.

This stocks the Wenches trophy cabinet with three of the four Majors, The Dungeonbowl, The Chaos Cup and The Spike! Trophy. David pushes ahead with his plan to claim the compete set.

It was old school Dungeonbowl just as we wanted, the only strange feature was a serious lack of carnage, the only one coming from Big Leg the Beastman blowing himself up with trapped treasure chest.

Summer 2009 Awards

Fabulous cash prizes for almost everyone this season, those sneaky bastard Sixty Whinerz came in at the end and swiped the board cleaning up a huge collection of the awards.

I'll give the top three in for each award, along with the prize money awarded and grand totals at the end.

So nicely done to the Whinerz, who take home a monstrous stack of loot. Some poor luck for Max and Levi who are the only players who don't have anything to take to the bank.

Autumn 2009

Tomorrow is the start of the Autumn Season, this time the six games to qualify rule is dropped and we're back to down to one team per player. This means we should get everyone involved in the Cup this season.

Once we get that done Jak can give out the fabulous prizes and we can get on to the build for the Chaos Cup.

Bloodbowl: Last Games for the Summer 2009 Season

Matches are complete, stats are compiled and awards are ready for to be handed out soon. It's the Dungeonbowl next week and then the trading window opens for the next two weeks as we begin the 2009 Autumn Season.

Three games to report from the last week, the rookie Sixty Winers entered the League against the top of the table Reds and while they suffered in the scoring are the first team ever to prevent the Reds from lining up 11 players for a drive and left one Croc so injured he had to retire.

In a close run game, the Wenches turned a safe win into a draw in the last turn for reasons beyond the understanding of the crowd. NAF officials are looking into alegations of Match Fixing. :-)=

And Finally, Klean put up a strong showing against R'lyeh but take home the loosers end of the purse as the Reds take a 4-1 victory. Raw speed and a solid Squeeky game plan couldn't make up for the veteran skills of R'lyeh.

The Reds climb to the top of the table with that win over the Wenches, same number of games played and same number of wins, they are divided by a Draw for the Reds vs a Loss for the Wenches.

Two more games for Squeeky Klean, both close run games. Klean came close but were unable to pull in a draw against the top of the table Wenches.

Braaaiins were then able to secure a draw in the final moments of the game to maintain some distance on the league table.

Bloodbowl: Packers vs Reds and Bullz vs Reds

Two games and two wins for the Reds this week, in Wednesday's game the Bloodbowl Champions continued their loosing slide with a 6-1 defeat. Nothing seems to be clicking for the Packers this season and the veterans are going to need a serious turn about to break the top of the table.

Then a mountain of inducements weren't enough to slow down the Reds as they rolled over the still fairly green Orcs of the Bullz, but a loss is just enough to keep Skadayul up in the middle of the table.

No huge moves on the table with these results, the Wenches are looking secure at the top of the table having played the same number of matches as the second place Reds, but to better effect.

The Hawks take third place over Uniteed by a gigantic goal difference of 14.

The Destroyers have yet to play, Paraplegic have had only one match and the Mountain Men only two, come on Ladies and Gents, get some games in. :)

Game One was fumblefest for the Hawks, resulting in a 3-1 defeat against the Reds.

Then it was a draw between Skrote and Braaaiins, lots of quick turnovers in this one. :)

Two games today, in the first match the Reds passing game proved too strong for the Packers as R'lyeh go 5-2 over Tolbeck.

In match two Braaaiins overpowered Klean, almost clearing the pitch on the way to a 3-1 win. Excellent dodging and high speed from the Skaven couldn't make up for the combination of the Undead high strength and Ratman low armour.

Overall Braaaiins close with the pack, but no one is in hunting range of the Wenches who are far away at the top of the table.

Special Event! in a note from the League Commish, someone has placed a bounty on the Wenches newly Agility 5 Linewoman, it's 50,000 crowns for her head.

Remember there is still an outstanding 50,000 crown bounty on the Strength 5 Hawks Chaos Warrior yet to be claimed.
